Before becoming an experienced hair stylist, Lisa was no stranger to the world of teamwork. At age 13, she was intrigued by her own hairdresser. Lisa was impressed by her knowledge, passion and attitude. Coming from a hockey background and holding championship titles, she was searching for a career with a team. After landing an assistant position at the Water’s Edge in 2007, Lisa has built a loyal clientele but keeps her chair open for new clients as well. Lisa specializing in cuts, colors, highlights, formal hair design, hair straightening, and clipper cuts. She never stops learning!
Sheri joined the Water’s Edge team in 1997 and completed an apprenticeship under the guidance of Shelly, as well as graduating from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor in Marketing & Advertising. Early on in her beauty career, Sheri found a passion for makeup artistry. She specializes in teaching custom applications, as she calls it “Makeup for your lifestyle”. After 15 years of being a Makeup Artist, Sheri was determined to find makeup that could be custom tailored. In 2015, she launched her cosmetic line, Inspyr Cosmetics, which focuses on healthy makeup formulated for skin type, skin color, coverage & individualism.
Behind the scenes, Sheri finds self-gratification in inspiring others to push outside their comfort zone, turn dreams into goals and just be a listening ear to help guide through life’s journey. The Water’s Edge team of technicians and customers has been part of her extended family for many years. In 2016, it only seemed natural to embrace the opportunity to carry on the legacy of the Water’s Edge as the new Owner.
Sheri can interpret body language, explain something in a million different ways, and has the ability to help clients feel comfortable and relaxed. She enjoys continuing education for makeup, Bioelements & B.Kamiens skin care, Nufree hair removal system, as well as communication and team building seminars. She also enjoys teaching our Morning Madness class, proper skin care regiments, clip in hair extensions, hand painted nail art designs and top notch customer services classes.
“Enjoy the journey” is only one of her favorite quotes that roll off of Shelly’s tongue. As the founder, Educational Director, and image enthusiast of the salon, Shelly’s mission is to have client’s look and feel amazing after visiting the Water’s Edge Salon and Spa. Her vision is for clients to feel warmth as soon as they walk through the door. Stylists are with their clients through all the important things in their life, from the good to the bad….weddings, births, graduations, sickness and death. We are by their side for the complete circle of life. Shelly feels it is much more meaningful than just being a hairdresser, it’s a heartfelt companionship!
Shelly's ambition came by the warm energy of her mom and by the hard work ethic of her dad. She started the salon in a small space of 300 square feet in 1990 at the young age of 23. The second relocation grew to 1500 sq. ft. in 1995, in 2000 she moved the salon to a 3000 sq. ft. location, and in 2010 she found the perfect house to be our home. In 2016, she handed the “Ownership” title to long time Manager, Business Partner and Friend, Sheri McCall-Gayer.
Shelly has been traveling the United States as a team Quest platform artist for Aquage, a haircare company, since 1999. She inspires others through her long hair designs as well as creative cutting and styling. Her talent has been featured in multiple publications and magazines including front covers of Canadian Hairdresser magazine, Modern Salon magazine, HOT magazine, as well as throughout the Aquage company imagery. Her stage work is her forum to share technique and successful business ideas with other salon professions.
Her mind never slows with ideas for her clients, the beauty industry and herself. "If it's not broken, break it and make it better!"..."If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got."..."Love what you do, Love who you do it with, and Love who you do it for!"
Greta joined our team with a diversity of career experiences. After graduating with her esthetics license from Spa Tech in Ipswich, MA she began her career in a fitness & wellness company. As her career matured she then worked on Boston's Newbury Street as well as a European waxing center. Greta has a soothing touch with facials and body treatments, yet she doesn't waste any time removing your unwanted hair! With all of her combined experiences, her passion for this industry remains the same as it did when she started. For Greta, it's not about the services she is providing, it's all about caring for her clients. It is important to Greta for her clients to feel as good on the inside as they do on the outside!
Thank you to Jennifer Lamerand of Studio L Photographers for our beautiful head shots!

Over the last 46 yrs, Theresa has seen the beauty business evolve and change into a huge career for owners and technicians. A normal day for her included clients arriving every 15 minutes to have their roller sets while smoking away under the dryer with their huge ashtrays. Theresa bought her first two chair salon in 1976 with her best friend. She moved to New Hampshire in 1983 and did hair and nails out of her home while raising her 3 children. Haley is a recent graduate from Empire Beauty School. She has been mentoring at the Water’s Edge for the past year and is eager to begin her career with passion for the beauty industry. As a young teenager, Haley fell in love with hand painted nail art. She even had theme weeks for her nail art. During high school, Haley had the opportunity to participate in a job shadow. She decided it was time to see how doing nails could be a career. With a small twist of fate, on the day of her job shadow, the nail technician wasn’t available so she shadowed a hair stylist. She finally found a path that she could envision a career. Her love of creativity shows in her color formulation, long hair designs and her precise nail painting.
With so many directions that cosmetology can take, Haley is excited to continue her education in several avenues of technical and creative hair dressing skills.
